In addition to its regular journal and textbook services, the GSI Library hosts the National Documentation Center which includes comprehensive material on the geology of Israel and neighbouring countries. The Current Bibliography of Middle East Geology is published quarterly in Africa Geoscience Review (Rockview International). The digital data bases which are developed and maintained by the GSI include systematic documentation of geological, stratigraphic, paleontological and geochemical data. Under the same Documentation Center framework, the GSI stores samples and cores from oil and water wells.
The GSI publishes the results of its research as Geological Reports, Bulletin, and Current Research. Geological maps are prepared in a standard 1:50,000 format, as well as at other scales, and include data on the geology, bathymetry, and environment of Israel.
